Welcome to the new UDM School of Law website! It may not seem like a big deal to you, but now I have the ability to post and edit my own blog posts, so that's pretty exciting for me. I also updated my "biography," so if you haven't read my blog before, that should give you the basics about what I'm all about. I'm also working on getting a new picture...the one that's up now was from two and a half years ago, and I never did like it.

In typing the date for this article, January 14, 2012, I have two observations. First, today is my half birthday: how exciting this date used to be for me as a little kid. Second, it's 2012! I graduate in 2012!

I have just finished my last first week back to school. Eeee! (That was both an excited and nervous exclamation, which was a bit difficult to convey in written form...)

This semester, I only have classes on two days of the week, and I am also interning at the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office two days a week in their Child Abuse Unit. So far, I have a good feeling about all three of my classes, and I'm really enjoying my internship. Of course, there is never enough time in the day, and my Christmas break wasn't nearly as productive as I had planned, so I feel like I'm already behind. I have plenty of Law Review work to catch up on before my workload gets completely out of control.

My verdict is that it's going to be a really rewarding semester...I just have to get my head above water so that I can enjoy it!

Meagan is a May 2012 graduate of UDM Law. She was admitted to the Michigan Bar in November, and she recently joined the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.

During law school, Meagan was active around the School of Law as the Law Review's Executive Editor of Outside Articles and the Vice-President of the St. Thomas More Society. She participated in the Criminal Trial Clinic, and took advantage of two internships with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and a summer internship with Judge Stephen Murphy of the Eastern District of Michigan.

In her free time, Meagan also serves as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, enjoys tap dancing, and can't resist reading a good book.
