October 20th, 2010
Okay, so this week may be the closest thing I get to a life of leisure this semester…and I am determined to enjoy it!

My advanced advocacy argument that was supposed to be due tomorrow (Thursday) was moved to Sunday. This means the 48 hour writing freak out period I allowed myself has been spread out over 120 hours or so. SO much better. (Of course, now this means I’m going to be working on my argument over the weekend…life is all about the trade-off.)

Today was supposed to be more productive than it was. I didn’t have class today, and I didn’t have anywhere else I had to be. My thought was that I was going to work on homework ALL DAY LONG. Then, I woke up in the middle of the night coughing and sneezing, woke up with a stuffy nose, and I saw my homework plans crumble before my very eyes. Instead, my day was spent doing my reading for tomorrow, taking a nap, and being very lazy in attempt to let my immune system play catch up. It seems like everyone at school is sick, (I swear, we all just pass the diseases back and forth!) and I can’t have any of that. Hopefully this one day of extra sleep, some cherry Kool-Aid, and Vitamin C will help my immune system feel more like its usual, vigilant self. Only about a month and a half until final exams!!

On a complete other note, in a previous post, I mentioned the value in reading challenging things to prepare your mind for the rigors of law school, and someone asked me if I had any reading suggestions. If you are interested in literature, a friend of mine (who just graduated with her degree in English and sociology) keeps a blog about the books that she’s reading, and you might find it interesting. http://losingblonde.wordpress.com/. (Disclaimer: I accept no responsibility for the content of her blog, I just suggest it because it might give you some good ideas of interesting reading materials. If you do decide to check it out and enjoy it, leave her a comment about her wonderful friend Meagan…)

I hope everyone stays well this season…wash your hands, cover your mouth, and take care of yourself!
