Happy Thursday!
What a busy week…but at this point in the year, I’ve just come to expect that. I was really worried about my workload for the week, so much so that I created a special “homework schedule” to keep track of it all. I don’t know if I have been particularly diligent this week, or if I just overestimated how long everything would take me, but I think I’m actually ahead of the game for the first time this year!
This past Tuesday was the annual Red Mass for the law school. The Mass was an opportunity for members of all faiths (judges, lawyers, professors, and students) come to the church next door, Sts. Peter and Paul, to celebrate together in honor of the new school year and the new judicial term. At the end of mass, the lawyers in attendance had the opportunity to renew their oath; as a student who hopes to take that oath within a couple years, that was a pretty cool reminder of why I’m here in law school.
My weekend starts in about two hours, after my criminal procedure ends. (I know you’re jealous of my three day weekends…but I’ll be doing a lot of schoolwork, so it really won’t be like a real weekend. Plus, I have to be downtown at 9:30am tomorrow, so I don’t even get to sleep in.) This weekend, I have a research report for Advanced Advocacy due by 5pm on Sunday, some reorganization to do for a law review assignment, a new law review sourcechecking assignment to start working on, plus normal reading to get started so that I’m not stuck with over a hundred pages of reading on Monday night. (Trust me, I’ve done that before…it is not nearly as much fun as it sounds…) I think I’ve given up on the idea that “next week will be less work…” Oh well.
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!!
