Dessert with the Dean- Town Hall Meeting
Yesterday the Dean of our school graciously took time out of his schedule to have a round table discussion with students. The President of each class made a dessert for the student body (I made chocolate chip cookies) and we all gathered together in a casual, intimate setting with Dean Semple. He was the only administrator present so students could feel free to voice any concerns or questions they may have without fearing the wrong person would get offended or upset. Dean Semple gave us two hours of his time just listening to our comments, questions, and concerns. Some students came prepared with notes prepared with exactly what they wanted to say, others wrote down questions to be asked anonymously, several students simply raised our hands, and many just sat and listened.
Dean Semple said he’d sit with students every week if we so desire. Of course, he knows that busy law students don’t have that kind of time, but the offer was still nice!
