What a busy weekend!
On Friday, after classes, a few of the 1Ls from the St. Thomas More Society went to the church next door to help lift Christmas trees into the choir loft (all sixteen of them!); it was quite the undertaking. That evening, I went to see “Valentine’s Day” (which I really enjoyed) with my mom and sister and went to bed early so that I would be well-rested for my Saturday.
On Saturday morning, I helped at the admitted students’ event at school and then took the People Mover to Cobo to work the Coast Guard Auxiliary table at the Detroit Boat Show. I always enjoy doing public affairs events with the Auxiliary, meeting people and giving them the knowledge they need to be safe while they are on the water. (On that note…wear your life jacket!) Our table was pretty busy and I got to interact with a lot of people, talking to them about everything from finding a boating safety class to joining the Coast Guard or Coast Guard Auxiliary.
On top of all of that, one of my best friends was unexpectedly in town for the weekend, so of course I ended up spending a lot of time hanging out with her too. Granted, we both had a ton of homework to accomplish, but it was nice to have a study buddy this weekend.
I suspect this is going to be a really long week…we have a civil procedure group assignment due on Friday, our final brief for ALTA due on Sunday, oh, and did I mention that next week is SPRING BREAK?! I’m very much looking forward to having some catch-up time, and I’m also planning to visit my friend (yes, the friend who was home this weekend…) in Buffalo for a few days. I am hoping it will be relaxing, while at the same time productive. I feel like the semester is just dwindling away…
