What a day! In addition to the normal two classes I had today, I also had a Civil Procedure review session with our TA, West Law certification training, an SBA meeting, and attended a guest speaker from the University Of Notre Dame on the Separation of Church and State which the Federalist Society brought in for us.
For two of our classes, civil procedure and ALTA, we have TAs which hold extra review sessions and office hours which are so helpful. Every Wednesday our Civil Procedure TA holds a review session to go over the material from the week. During the first month of your law school experience you will receive training in Westlaw and Lexis Nexis. These are the two research programs you will use throughout all of law school and in practice as well. Today I started my advanced training (an optional thing to do) to become Westlaw certified. Also, I mentioned I had a SBA meeting today, which is the Student Bar Association. I am the 1L Day Class President so I’m required to attend the monthly meetings (among other things).
I can honestly say that I am exhausted, but due to my busy day I haven’t touched any homework yet today. It’s going to be a long night and tomorrow I have an even more fun filled and longer day than today! Tomorrow night I’m attending an environmental law event at a large law firm downtown. I look forward to sharing my experience with everyone!
