Wasn’t Peter just talking yesterday about the joys of a cancelled class? Our property class was cancelled this morning, and with that being our first class of the day, everyone from my section was treated to a couple extra hours of sleep (or homework…) this morning.
I still got to campus early to meet up with friends from another section for lunch, as we do every Wednesday. The nice part of being downtown is that there is so much within walking distance of campus; we are right across the street from the Renaissance Center, a couple blocks from Greektown and rather close to Campus Martius. It is always so nice to be able to get away from the building for a couple hours in the middle of the week to have some fun and clear my mind.
I finished the school day with torts from 1p-3p and working in the library 3p-5p before heading home. I drive in from Livonia every day, which is about a 30 minute drive, longer during rush hour (as I seem to always run into…). There is so much to consider when making the choice of where to live during law school, the biggest being whether or not you can put up with a lengthy commute every day. There are days where I enjoy driving, listening to music or an audio book (I really miss reading for pleasure, hence the compromise.) and enjoying my relaxing non-homework time…and then there are others where it is just stressful, the other drivers aggravating and my precious time wasted. Of course there are pros and cons; it’s really something to think about.
After I get this posted, I will be heading to Starbucks to get my contracts reading for tomorrow finished, and then maybe an hour of TV (I have way too many shows lined up on my DVR…) before bed.
