Wow, where did August go…?

So we’ve been back to school for almost four weeks now, but it feels like we just started! I think I can blame it on the fact that I’ve just been super busy. In addition to my Law Review work, and my “big girl job” search, I am also taking five classes.

Here is what my schedule looks like this semester:

Monday: Business Crimes 6-8pm

Tuesday: Pre-Trial Litigation 1:30-4:15pm, Professional Responsibility 4:30-6pm, Estates and Trusts 8-10pm

Wednesday: Criminal Trial Clinic hours (at a district court near my house) 8:30am-12:30pm

Thursday: Criminal Trial Clinic classroom component 11am-12pm, Professional Responsibility 4:30-6pm, Estates and Trusts 6-8pm

Somehow I ended up with a bunch of evening classes again this semester. I’m not a huge fan of taking classes so late in the day (being done by 12:30 on Wednesday is much more my style…), but I have to admit, it is so nice to only be downtown three days a week (at least in theory, I usually end up there an extra day or two every week…), and to have so much time to prepare for the week on Mondays!

The nice thing for my readers this semester is that I now know what clinics and “those LFP things”  are all about. Look forward to hearing about these unique classes soon!

If you haven’t been to the law building (“Dowling Hall”) lately, you should definitely stop by and see what all of the construction fuss was about. Wow. Although they are still working on some finishing touches in various places, it looks like a completely different school! When I first started at UDM Law, I remember Dean Semple telling me that the school would probably be beautified the year after I graduated…so I was very pleasantly surprised that I now get the opportunity to enjoy the renovations this year! I think one of my favorite changes is the new Student Services Center. It is just so convenient to have all of the different student services offices in the same place, and all on the first floor. (They also have really soft chairs to sit on while you wait…those sorts of things are very important to me.)

I look forward to sharing more of my experiences soon…don’t forget to send me any questions you might have!
