Why did I choose UDM Law?

I have been a Detroiter my entire life.  I was born and raised in Detroit and the surrounding Metro-Detroit area.  The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law has an outstanding location in the heart of downtown Detroit just blocks away from the buesiest court houses in the nation.  The school has a natural, friendly, family-like environment with welcoming staff, faculty and students.  Additionally, The School and Professors have a strong dedication to the success of its student during and after law school.

Why did I run for an Executive SBA Position?

I ran for SBA President because I was looking for a way to most effectively influence our students interactions and experiences during law school.  As SBA President, I knew I would be able to spearhead initiatives to bring about positive changes for students and help our law school progress in the right direction.  It is my honor and privilege to serve as the 2014-2015 SBA Executive President.

Why did I choose UDM Law?

My mother and I attended the 2012 "Voice for Justice Auction" where the staff and students embraced me and took me under their wings. Mrs. White was the first person I met; she greeted me with such optimism and warmth, as did the SBA executive board. SBA president Daniel Gordon and secretary Rejane Ferreira came across the room to introduce themselves. I was pleased by how welcoming the professors were and how they truly want to see students do well. The administrative efficiency played a major part too; as I've never dealt with a faster financial aid staff! Everything just fell right in line for me.

Why did I run for an Executive SBA position?

Every day I try to think of the most effective ways to help people. An executive position on the SBA is the most effective way I can help foster greatness. That is why I am here and I know I can make a positive difference at UDM Law. As the SBA Executive Vice-President I will bring experience, professionalism, and an unyielding perseverance to ensure students are well connected to internships and employment opportunities.

Why did I choose UDM Law?
I chose UDM Law for its magnificent downtown location, class size, varied public service clinics, and practical approach to teaching the law.

Why did I run for an Executive SBA position?

I ran for an SBA executive position for the honor and privilege of being a public servant, selected by my peers to oversee and administer our student reasury.

What advice do I have for incoming 1L students?

Learning the law is a totally different academic endeavor; therefore, you must submit to a new learning process and be prepared to seek assistance early and often.

Why did I choose UDM Law?

I chose UDM Law because the staff and student body were very welcoming and helpful when I visited the school for an open house. Everyone I met was extremely helpful and genuine in their willingness to help students succeed. The professors had an urge to teach students and allow students the opportunity to enjoy the law. I have a few family members who attended UDM and I realized being an alumna of such a great school would truly benefit me in the future.

Why did I run for an Executive SBA position?

I ran for an executive SBA position after experiencing how helpful the SBA board was to me and my peers. The first year of law school can be extremely difficult and frightening which is why it is important to have a group of people willing to help and support students. I love to help others and come together as a team to do better for the school and community as a whole.
