Mrs. Cooper is the Assistant Director for Career Services and Outreach at Detroit Mercy Law. She coordinates the On-Campus Interview Programs, serves as employers’ primary contact, assists with gathering and reporting statistical data regarding employment, and is the liaison to UDM Law’s French Scholar Program with the Universite d`Auvergne at Clermont Ferrand. She joined the University of Detroit Mercy Law School Career Services Office in the fall of 1991. She has substantial experience in this area, having completed a successful legal internship at the United States Justice Department for the Eastern District of Michigan/Criminal Division and an internship at Berg and McQueen, PLC, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, which diversified and strengthened her legal background. Mrs. Cooper earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, in the Paralegal/Legal Administration Program at the University of Detroit Mercy, receiving the Dionyell Walton Paralegal Award, as well as consistently receiving the Dean’s Gold Key Award for Academic Excellence.

One of her greatest accomplishments here at the Law School was single-handedly coordinating and completing a successful Fall 1994 On-Campus Interview Program, while the university sought a replacement Assistant Dean of Career Services.

Her honors include: authoring a legal administration article pertaining to the Paralegal/Legal Administration Program published in UDM’s Paralegal Today, as well as receiving the University of Detroit Mercy Commitment to Excellence Award, the first law school associate to receive this award. 

Mrs. Cooper is a member of Kappa Gamma Pi, the national Catholic University Honor Society and Detroit Synergy, a volunteer group whose mission is to generate positive perceptions and opinions about Detroit by bringing together a diverse community and building upon the City’s strengths and resources to realize a common vision for a greater Detroit. She was also former chair of the beautification committee for the Northville Hills Golf Club Community.
