Professor McGlinn earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1994 and his B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Wayne State University in 1990. Since October 1996, he has worked for the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission and is responsible for investigating and prosecuting attorneys for allegations of professional misconduct. He has tried cases across Michigan in front of disciplinary panels and has presented appellate briefs and arguments to the Attorney Discipline Board. For the past 7 years, he has served as Senior Associate Counsel which, in addition to the duties of Associate Counsel identified above, requires him to assist the Grievance Administrator in identifying and implementing procedures to improve case and file management, to handle reconsideration requests of file determinations, to assist the Administrator in personnel evaluations and recommendations, and to prepare and file the quarterly and annual reports for the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission office. Professor McGlinn has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law since 2006. He has served as a State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness District Committee member from 2004-08 and 2010 to present.
