Professor LaFontaine has been in private practice, specializing in Intellectual Property Law, since his graduation from law school in 1982. He has represented many clients in preparation and prosecution of patent applications, specializing in software inventions. From April 2005 through June 2008, Professor LaFontaine served as Chief Patent Counsel to Lear Corporation including management of Lear’s worldwide patent portfolio fir tis automotive products. He now devotes significant time to patent and product reviews, drafting analyses and clearance opinions for clients.
