Nancy Omichinski earned her B.A. and M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan. She was a teacher for five years before obtaining her J.D., summa cum laude, from Wayne State University, where she was the Editor-in Chief of The Wayne Law Review, worked in the Free Legal Aid Clinic, and was a research assistant to two professors. After receiving her law degree, Omichinski clerked for the Honorable Richard D. Cudahy on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She then practiced commercial real estate law at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, ultimately as a senior partner, before joining UDM Law as Director of Academic Support in 2004.

As a Director of Academic Support, Omichinski is available to meet with students who desire to develop strategies to improve their academic performance. She is willing to meet with students individually and in small groups. Omichinski offers “Succeeding in Law School” workshops designed to help new law students make the transition to the study of law. She also maintains a modest library of resource materials. In addition, Omichinski is engaged in the development and teaching of early bar exam preparation courses available to students during their final year at UDM Law.
