Professionalism and ethics are stressed in every aspect of the career and professional development curriculum. UDM Law has partnered with the State Bar of Michigan since 2011 to present Professionalism in Action, a program which pairs prominent lawyers and judges with incoming law students in small groups to discuss the importance of civility and work through a series of ethical and professionalism hypotheticals. This important program provides an opportunity for interaction between first-year law students and veteran lawyers and judges, and is a key component of the Introduction to Law Orientation sessions for 1L students.
The Professionalism in Action program held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church and the School of Law was a resounding success. State Bar of Michigan President Thomas Rombach served as the keynote speaker and offered remarks on behalf of the State Bar of Michigan.
