UDM Law Service Day - Admitted Students Only

Join us for UDM Law Service Day on July 9.  The community service committee will be hosting a lunch for the homeless at the Saints Peter and Paul Jesuit Church. Volunteers will help prepare and serve lunch.  Interested volunteers must register by July 3.

Fall 2014 Orientation

UDM Law's Fall 2014 Mandatory JD Orientation. Session 1: M-F  8:30am-3:00pm Session 2: M-F  5:00-10:00pm All Day division students must register for one session of Orientation.  Session 1 is limited to 60 students, session 2 is limited to 40 students.  Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis. All Evening division students are automatically assigned to session 2. For a detailed schedule, please see the Dean's message.

Find out why men and women have been choosing UDM Law for over 100 years for their legal education.  Learn how UDM Law not only teaches you the law, but teaches you how to be a lawyer.  Through your education here, you will become a lawyer who makes a difference in your workplace and your community.   This unique Open House features the 12th annual Ernie Goodman Mock Trial Tournament.  This internal competition for UDM Law students is named in honor of Ernie Goodman, a celebrated Detroit civil rights attorney. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the campus and speak with admissions representatives, faculty and current students.

McElroy Lecture on Law and Religion

Our annual McElroy Lecture provides a forum for prominent thinkers and leaders to address fundamental issues of law, religion, and society.  It seeks to educate students, legal professionals, and the public on a variety of questions related to moral philosophy, freedom of conscience, the interaction of legal and religious institutions, and the role of religion in public life.  Its goal is to encourage discussion of these issues in our community and deepen our understanding of them.  This year's lecturer is Professor Nelson Tebbe of Brooklyn Law School.  The lecture will be held on Wednesday, March 4, from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., followed by a complimentary reception in the Atrium of the School of Law.
