Many attorneys gave of their time this past year to speak to UDM students through the Lunches with Lawyers program. Among those speaking were:
Faye Nelson (’80)– Ms. Nelson, President and CEO of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, spoke with students about the importance of getting involved in the community, an act which could also help them find causes and work they feel strongly about. She discussed the value of having a J.D. and its application outside the traditional practice of law. She also emphasized the importance of achieving and maintaining balance, both personally and professionally.
Richard Rennell (’74) – Mr. Richard Rennell, who is also a UDM School of Law Alumni Mentor, traveled from Cleveland, Ohio to meet students and share his experiences as a real estate attorney and the owner of Resource Title Agency, Inc. Discussion ranged from the economy and the real estate market to some of the particular challenges Michigan is facing. Mr. Rennell gave examples of ways that he has been able to succeed in business by anticipating trends and market demands, thinking creatively, and taking advantage of technological advances to meet those demands.
