Where everybody knows your name...
One of the things that drew me to this school was the seemingly close-knit atmosphere. I liked that the school was small, etc. And now that I've been here for 3 years, I can say that the school has really delivered that culture to me. It is really nice to walk down the hallway and have 5 to 10 people say "Hi Alison, how are you doing" and often even ask other questions because they actually know me. Its students, faculty, administrators, even the maintenance staff.
Even today, I walked into the Dean's suite, struck up a conversation with him about vacation ideas, and before I knew it he was showing me pictures of him at the spots I wanted to travel to - and all of a sudden 10 minutes had gone by from us just chatting. So needless to say, UDM made the law school experience very 'homey' for me.
Its just something they force, it is just a natural style that most people at this school fall into. That sort of community attitude makes it really easy to come here every day.
