What a long day.

My schedule today:
9-10:30am Contracts
11-1pm ALTA
1-1:30pm 1L Registration and Advising information session
1:30-2:15pm Moot Court practice with my coach
3:45-6:15 Babysitting

Now that I’m home, I have to work on my supply agreement for core concepts and read for both of my classes tomorrow. I’m just a little bit overwhelmed. I’m looking forward to getting this supply agreement done and over with so that I’m able to devote more time and thought to my oral argument (oh, and sleep…).

So now, allow me to deviate for a moment from my usual purpose in talking about my life as a law student to mention something that hits close to home for me. An acquaintance of mine should have been celebrating his 23rd birthday today, but he was killed three years ago by a distracted driver. No matter how good a person is
at “multitasking,” texting while driving cannot yield positive results. Please keep this in mind the next time you go to respond to a text while driving: is it really worth risking you life or the life of another? How much would it really hurt to wait a few extra minutes until you are safely at your destination until you send that text? I don’t want to see any more families go through what his did. Just something to think about…I appreciate your indulgence in my public service statement.

I really should get back to this supply agreement. It seems to be slowly coming together, but I suspect it is going to be a late night…
