February 7th, 2010
It’s Sunday night (Super Bowl Sunday…and I’m doing homework), and after some reflection of my day tomorrow, I’m already stressed out. My day starts with the dentist at 9am (and there are few things more unpleasant for me than a trip to the dentist) and then I will probably head to campus and find something to accomplish until my civpro class at noon. Then, from 2-3pm, I have the last of my computer research training and then core concepts class from 4-5:30pm. After that, I get to head home briefly until my Coast Guard Auxiliary meeting at 7:30…ideally my meeting should be done by 9pm, but they’ve certainly run later than that…

I guess when you look at it as a twelve hour scheduled day, it isn’t terrible…but I’m sure I will be quite ready for a nap when 9pm comes around. Hopefully I can get my contracts reading completed during my breaks tomorrow so that I can relax and watch some of my Monday night television when I get home. (Big Bang Theory, Castle and Life Unexpected…)

I’m getting to the point where I really need to start worrying about what I want to do this summer. I’m planning on doing an externship for credit, but I haven’t decided where I want to work. For our externship program, they have to be unpaid positions…but do I want to work for a community organization or a government position? If I go for a government position, do I want something local, state or federal? Do I want something in the Detroit area or do I want to go out of state?

Of course, this is leading my brain to all sorts of questions. What on earth do I want to do with my law degree? What do I want to want to do with my life? Needless to say, I’m pretty overwhelmed with it all; I’ve never really been in the position to have to make such life-changing decisions before…

I think my problem is that I’m thinking too far in advance right now. Maybe I should start with making it through the next hour and getting all of my civpro reading finished and then see where that takes me…
