When people ask me whether I like law school, I generally reply “most days.” Today was not one of those days.
ALTA is one of those classes that you love to hate. It’s a pain in the you-know-what when you have assignments due and you have to spend your previously relaxing weekend time researching, organizing and writing for various assignments…but when it’s all said and done, you have so much to show for it that it all ends up worth it.
Last night, I did take the time to go out to the opera. We went to see Dido and Aeneas, which for someone who knows nothing about the opera, seemed like a pretty good selection. It was only about an hour long, and was in English (not that you can really understand anything…). I had read the synopsis before I saw the performance and could follow along pretty well. If you are thinking you might enjoy attending an opera, I would recommend it.
We have another group project to work on for civil procedure that’s due at the end of February. My group is pretty on top of things, so we are already thinking ahead to it…meeting tomorrow at 10am to work on it. It’s kind of frustrating to have to meet so early, but at the same time it’s refreshing to have a group that’s willing to get things completed with plenty of time to spare.
Tomorrow also marks the first day of additional computer research training for 1L students. We had a variety of times to sign up for, and it only lasts for two weeks, so not terribly burdensome, but I think it will still make for a long day tomorrow.
I still have reading to complete for tomorrow, but I think I will eat some dinner first. Give my brain a break…
