I made it to the weekend! 

So the big news of the week? As of about 5:30pm yesterday (Friday), all of the first year grades were posted. It was a frustrating few weeks having to wait for them, and while I can’t speak for all of the 1L’s, for me it feels like a weight has been lifted. Cliché, yes…but so true. (Maybe that’s just because I ended up doing really well on the exam that I was honestly convinced would destroy my 1L GPA…) 

I celebrated with a quiet night in...pure laziness while I watched my Thursday night programming on the DVR. (Have I mentioned yet about the wonders of DVR? We just got it in August or so…and considering my crazy school schedule and the number of TV shows I watch every week, it’s been one of the most convenient things ever. I highly recommend looking into obtaining one once you start law school depending on your own TV viewing habits. The cable company should really be paying me for all of the DVR services I sell…) 

This weekend, I am planning on doing a bit of cleaning/organization in my bedroom and new office (aka, the old spare bedroom), working on a decision tree analysis due on Monday in Core Concepts, spending some time with my Civil Procedure supplements to really grasp some of the concepts we have been learning (because it’s only a couple weeks in and I’m already feeling lost) and then revamping my argument outline and drafting one part of my argument for ALTA. Not a busy weekend or anything…

Meagan is a May 2012 graduate of UDM Law. She was admitted to the Michigan Bar in November, and she recently joined the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.

During law school, Meagan was active around the School of Law as the Law Review's Executive Editor of Outside Articles and the Vice-President of the St. Thomas More Society. She participated in the Criminal Trial Clinic, and took advantage of two internships with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and a summer internship with Judge Stephen Murphy of the Eastern District of Michigan.

In her free time, Meagan also serves as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, enjoys tap dancing, and can't resist reading a good book.
