So this weekend was supposed to be major catch-up weekend where I was going to have all sorts of time to really get myself prepared for finals. Maybe I was a bit overoptimistic…

Wednesday, I did stay after to finish watching the BarBri contracts video and then spent some time working on my torts reading for Monday…but that evening was spent with friends who go to school out of state who were home for the holiday.

Thanksgiving was the day that I reserved to do absolutely no homework and to not worry about law school at all. It was a pretty successful day and so nice to spend time with my family and relax.

Then Black Friday came around…I was scheduled at Bath and Body Works from 6am-noon, but they way overscheduled hours, so I was sent home at 9am. I ended up shopping and then headed home for lunch and then a few hours of homework with friends. That evening, I went to the Fox Theatre to see Manheim Steamroller’s Christmas concert; it was really cool, and perfect timing to get me into the Christmas spirit, but of course I got nothing accomplished once I got home.

On Saturday, I was scheduled for four and a half hours at BBW and then I was assigned to lector at church. After that, I joined a friend for several hours of studying (finishing my property outline…), taking a break to go to urgent care for an ear and sinus infection. What fun. You know you’re in law school when: a close friend is home for Thanksgiving and you hang out on Saturday until the wee hours of the night…studying for finals.

Today, Sunday, I spent several hours at Panera working on my contracts outline. So far, it really doesn’t look like a whole lot because I’m having a pretty difficult time organizing everything and knowing what is really necessary to study. (I have a meeting with my contracts professor tomorrow, so I am hoping he will be able to shed some light on my problem areas.) I then enjoyed a third (and last!) dinner of Thanksgiving food and now I am planning to work on starting a civil procedure outline. I feel like civpro has a rather clear structure, plus we have been having review sessions every week on top of regular classes, so I am optimistic about being able to get something coherent together tonight. (Although not too optimistic…we see how that usually works out for me…)

I am starting to feel a little better from my ear infection; I no longer have a seemingly constant headache, but I have been SO tired. If you must fall under the weather, don’t do it less than 2 weeks before first semester law school finals…best advice I can give you right now.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
