Oh no! It’s a snowpacaylpse!
It is 7:11pm on Tuesday, and I’m not sure if I believe the hype about all of this snow…but, yeah, it’s 7:11pm on a Tuesday, and I’m at Panera with a hot bowl of soup instead of in class. I’ll take it. I’ve been a student with the University of Detroit Mercy for five and a half years, and for the first time (with the exception of once, when the University closed over winter break…who cares then?!), they closed the entire University. Night classes were cancelled tonight, and then all classes tomorrow.
As I have come to discover though, snow days are not as much fun when you are in law school. Rather than being a special treat, it just means that the work I have for Thursday (and my brief due Friday) has more time to get done. Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely planning on sleeping in tomorrow, and then watching some television in my pajamas, but then I’m going to have a lot of reading and work on my opening statement for trial practice.
Of course, all of those plans are predicated on me finishing my part of our Keenan brief tonight. The way it’s going, I probably will NEED that morning of sleeping in tomorrow, but I just want to get it done and over with already. I’m at the point where it really shouldn’t take me much longer, but it’s just so easy to keep putting it off…
