TGIF…tomorrow
My week started out rough, to say the least. On Monday I woke up at 5:30 am with my eyes literally sealed shut. I called an urgent care hoping it would be open at 6 so I could make it there before heading to school. Unfortunately, the message said it wouldn’t be open until ten so I was forced to go to school looking and feeling like a baby bird that’s just busted out of its egg. I knew I was going to go to an Urgent Care as soon as I could; I just had to get through the day.
I made it through my first class then worked the election table for the 1L elections followed by two more classes. It was 6 pm when classes were finally done for the day. I got to the urgent care by 7 hoping to be in and out very quickly. Three hours later I was still there and had witnessed: a man having a stroke and a second man cause a huge scene in the waiting room. Finally, I see the doctor and he quickly informs me that I have pink eye in both of my eyes! He gives me a prescription and I practically run to my car and over to the nearest CVS which is open 24 hours. Of course, the pharmacy is all out of my prescription. By the time I got home it was 11 pm- what a day!
The week has gotten better with time. Today I thought was a great day for two reasons:
- I got to school not only on time, but 30 minutes early!
- I took the last spot in the close parking lot.
It’s the little things that count. I definitely have to dedicate this weekend to studying. My boyfriend is a month into medical school, so his study schedule helps keep me focused.
