In two weeks I'll be studying for my last final as a 1L. In a few hours I'll have turned in my last writing assignment in ALTA. In a couple weeks I'll be back home in Texas. Just like in Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, things always turn out okay after a thrilling escape.
If you're on the fence about going to law school, do it! It'll be the ride of your life...

This past week, we got to register for next semester's classes. It was fun picking classes for myself (whereas a 1L's curriculum is set by the school). It's also pretty amazing how different my schedule is compared to my classmates'.
Honestly, not too much has changed. Still outlining (reviewing my notes) to gear up for finals, still keeping up with the reading assignments, still working on the last assignments for ALTA (writing class).

Although you can't tell from the weather, Spring is here. We are over the semester hump and getting closer to final exams.
This past weekend, we had our 1L Moot Court Competition. It was a lot of fun! Everyone was really nervous going into it, but as soon as it was over, all you heard was how exhilarating the experience was for the competitors.

Diving right in, yesterday was a blast. We had our annual Barrister's Ball, and it did not disappoint. It was nice to see everyone dressed up and having a good time. The most important thing I've learned this year is to keep laughing. Letting yourself get drowned in law school will turn your heart black. Don't get me wrong, stay on top of your assignments, but there's no reason to think you can't have a little me-time as well.
