Meagan Hanna

Meagan Hanna

Meagan is a May 2012 graduate of UDM Law. She was admitted to the Michigan Bar in November, and she recently joined the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.

During law school, Meagan was active around the School of Law as the Law Review's Executive Editor of Outside Articles and the Vice-President of the St. Thomas More Society. She participated in the Criminal Trial Clinic, and took advantage of two internships with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and a summer internship with Judge Stephen Murphy of the Eastern District of Michigan.

In her free time, Meagan also serves as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, enjoys tap dancing, and can't resist reading a good book.

Meagan genuinely enjoyed her time at UDM Law and she is passionate about talking to prospective students about her experience. Please contact the admissions office to obtain her contact information.

*Grumble*Monday*Grumble*  I am not a Monday girl. My day started off with a trip to the post office at 9am to ship my Torts Examples and Explanations book that I sold on Amazon. Torts? I made it to the weekend!  So the big news of the week? As of about 5:30pm yesterday (Friday), all of the first year grades were posted. It was a frustrating few weeks having to wait for them, and while I can’t speak for all of the 1L’s, for me it feels like a weight has been lifted. Cliché, yes…but so true. It’s been a long day.  Tuesdays are long days for me. They start with 9am Contracts (which means I’m up at 7am), an hour break and then ALTA until 1pm. Starting next week, the wonderful Karen will be offering our CivPro review sessions from 1:30-2:30. This gives me exactly 30 minutes to get home, 5 minutes to drop off my school stuff and grab my property homework and then 10 minutes to get to my babysitting job. Then, I don’t get home again...

Happy MLK Jr. Day! In observance of MLK Day, we were treated to a three-day weekend! Although I didn’t get as much studying and reading done as I would have liked, I can’t deny that it was a productive weekend. My big task was to convert our spare bedroom into an office. Well, that’s that.   I just got home from completing my first final, torts. It was a long four hours…but I think I did well. Now it’s time to play the waiting game (as you may have noticed, everything about law school includes waiting games, from the LSAT and applications, all the way to waiting for Bar results) and try not to worry about it. There seriously is not enough time in a day.  Yesterday, I went to campus for a contracts review session in the morning and then a few of us from the St. Thomas More Society helped with the Christmas trees at the church next door. I don’t think any of us anticipated that would entail using rope to lower tree parts down from the old choir loft! Then, we had to figure out which tree pieces fit together…for all 16 trees! Another Monday…our last Monday of the semester!  This week, we have only three days of classes. Under ordinary circumstances, this would be cause for celebration.
