For the fifth year in a row, UDM Law 2Ls and 3Ls stepped forward to mentor the Fall 2014 first-year class. Student-to-student mentors help incoming students make the transition to law school, introduce them to new friends, and engage them in the life of the school.

Katherine provides reference services to students, faculty and other library patrons. Other duties include managing the serials department, teaching in the first-year legal research module program, providing a current awareness service to the faculty, supervising student employees, and participating in collection development.

Alicia Y. Dyer

Alicia’s primary responsibility is to provide reference services to faculty, students, staff, legal practitioners, law librarians, and other patrons visiting the Law Library. She provides individual research consultations to faculty and students and administers the first-year legal research module program, which provides library instruction on legislation, case law, and secondary resources. Alicia conducts specialized library training sessions for seminars and other advanced level courses upon request, creates and updates research guides using LibGuides software, manages and updates the Law Library’s social media program and website, and participates in collection development. 
Jennifer Hostetler

Night Manager and Research Specialist

Jennifer manages the library in the evenings. She provides reference and circulation services to students, faculty, and other patrons. Jennifer also assists faculty and students with legal citation, teaches in the first-year legal research module program, and participates in collection development.
Elaine Manning

Cataloging Assistant

Elaine processes incoming materials so they are available for all users in accordance with library protocol and cataloging standards set forth by the Library of Congress.  She processes special order items for faculty and students and ensures prompt delivery of said materials.  Elaine assists with ordering legal treatises and other materials as needed, and performs circulation duties.

Gene’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the Law Library is in compliance with the legal requirements of the Federal Depository Library Program. The focus of the Government Document collection is on the selection of publications that supports the research and teaching interest of the Law School faculty and students. Gene also provides reference and research support services to Law School faculty, students, staff, legal practitioners and the general community, teaches in the first-year legal research module program, and participates in collection development.

Electronic Resource Specialist

Sally manages the online database records in the catalog, which involves downloading, checking, editing, and updating or deleting records. She also creates and updates content on the catalog's website and manages the functionality of the catalog, the latter of which involves installing client software on staff computers, performing catalog data backups, installing catalog software updates, making changes to catalog settings, managing the proxy service, and resolving problems with working/using the catalog.

Cathy processes and catalogs federal, state and tribal electronic and print government documents received through the Federal Depository Library Program. She performs various circulation duties.
Latha Rangarajan

Latha develops and directs the functions of cataloging, acquisitions, serials, and the physical processing of the collections. Latha orders print monographs, and  audio visual and digital materials for the library collection, maintains and manages the monograph budget using Innovative Interfaces and our school’s financial module, and catalogs monographs and serials using the OCLC database pursuant to the cataloging standards set by Library of Congress. Latha is also responsible for coordinating with public service and implementing changes as necessary to support the mission of the library.

Zach processes all incoming journal issues, pocket parts, updates, and standing orders, including checking in items using the integrated library system. He assists in the cataloging of serial titles, prepares all incoming serial/continuation items for shelving, routes various items to faculty/staff, and performs general circulation duties. Zach processes all inter-library loan requests placed by students, faculty, staff, and participating OCLC members.
