Please join David C. Koelsch, Associate Professor and Director of the Immigration Law Clinic and the Asylum Law Clinic at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law for a mock law class on Wednesday, November 4, 2014 at Michigan State University's James Madison College. Students will experience first-hand what it is like to take a traditional law class utilizing the Socratic method of classroom discussion. Students will be provided with a legal case to read and brief prior to the session in order to properly prepare.

There will be a light dinner prior to the mock class. Time and location TBD

Professor Koelsch will be discussing Executive Authority: Are there Limits? President Obama is using "executive authority" to take action on immigration in the face of Congress' inability to address this issue. What gives him the right to do so? Are there limits to what he can do? Is this how democracy works?

Questions and to RSVP for the dinner and mock law school class to Ms. Barbara Stockwell-Buslepp at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
