U.S. SUPREME COURT CASE CO-COUNSEL DANA NESSEL TO SPEAK ON MARRIAGE EQUALITY CASE OF DEBOER V SNYDER

Dana Nessel, co-counsel for the DeBoer - Rowse family, will speak at UDM Law on Tuesday, March 24, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 226.  Ms. Nessel will discuss DeBoer v. Snyder, the Michigan case that the U.S. Supreme Court will hear in April as one of four cases the Justices are considering regarding same-sex marriage.  DeBoer v. Snyder challenges Michigan’s laws forbidding same-sex marriage and same-sex second-parent adoptions. Ms. Nessel will discuss the history and progression of DeBoer v. Snyder and what it means for the U.S. Supreme Court to hear this landmark case.  Her remarks will be followed by a Q & A session. This event is free and open to the public.  Due to the anticipated interest, however, RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.  Please call 313-993-3270 to RSVP (you may leave a message).
