Bankruptcy (3130)

This course covers the process of collection, liquidation, and distribution of the estate of a bankrupt individual debtor, with a focus on the substantive and procedural law of bankruptcy proceedings and the relationship of state secured transaction law to the Bankruptcy Code of 1978. The course will begin with an overview of state secured transaction law and will also include a survey of the reorganization of corporate debtors under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
