Peter Friedman

Peter Friedman graduated with an A.B. in Latin and Ancient Greek from Brown University in 1981 and with a J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1984. He practiced as a commercial litigator in New York City for more than 11 years, most recently as a partner with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
Since 1996, Peter has been a member of the faculty at Case Western Reserve University Law School, where he taught Legal Analysis and Writing, Contracts, Civil Procedure, and upper-level courses in civil litigation practice. He is teaching Contracts and Core Concepts at Detroit Mercy. Peter writes two blogs: "Ruling Imagination: Law and Creativity" addresses the ways law governs creative endeavors and the ways creativity informs the practice of law. " What is Fair Use?" began as a class project in Peter's Legal Analysis and Writing class in Spring 2008 and addresses issues pertaining to fair use and copyright. He is also currently working on an article on tortious interference with contract and the moral value of the contractual promise.
