Thomas J. Denholm

Professor Denholm teaches Applied Legal Theory and Analysis (ALTA) to students in the J.D./LL.B. program. He previously taught Legal Research & Writing and International Dispute Resolution at the University of Windsor, and Public Security Law at Queen’s University. A member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, he practiced corporate law with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in Ottawa. Before attending law school, he worked in Canada’s Department of External Affairs, serving as Vice Consul at the Canadian Embassy in Warsaw.
Professor Denholm is completing his doctoral dissertation in the Birkbeck School of Law at the University of London on the topic of ‘Sovereignty and Responsibility’, examining the international law of state responsibility and the responsibility to protect.
