Professor Cooper came to the University of Detroit Mercy in 1983 from Indiana University, where he was Associate Director of the Law Library and taught legal research in the law school and in the Graduate Library School. He has published several articles on legal bibliography and library management and is active in law library associations.
Professor Cooper has been instrumental in automating several aspects of the Law Library and in making a wide range of computer facilities available to students. He is presently engaged in a significant expansion of the Library's collection of treatises, primary sources, audiovisual materials and computer software.
Professor Cooper frequently speaks to library groups and is Past-President of the Michigan Association of Law Libraries.
