Logan Robinson

• Harvard Law School, J.D. First prize in Ames Competition (best brief), second prize in Williston Competition (contract drafting and negotiation), Preparatory Fellow in Soviet and Russian Law.
• Cornell University, B.A. magna cum laude, double major in history and economics, and with distinction in all subjects.
• Post-doctoral work at the Universities of Leningrad and Moscow (Russia) and Leiden (the Netherlands).

Following several years as a member of the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) School of Law’s Advisory Board, Mr. Robinson joined the faculty as a Distinguished Visiting Professor teaching corporate governance.

Prior to joining UDM, Mr. Robinson had a thirty-year career as an international and automotive lawyer.  He was executive vice president of Metaldyne, in charge of legal affairs and government relations.  Following the sale of Metaldyne to Asahi Tec, a Japanese public company, he assumed the same duties for Asahi Tec.  Earlier, he served as vice president and general counsel of Delphi, then the largest automotive supplier in the world.  He led the legal aspects of Delphi’s IPO on the NYSE and spin-off from General Motors.  Earlier, he was senior vice president and general counsel of ITT Automotive.

Mr. Robinson was general counsel of Chrysler International Corporation, the Chrysler subsidiary responsible for all international activities.  He also served as managing director of Chrysler Austria, Chrysler’s largest foreign investment and center of its European manufacturing activities.  He was Chrysler’s head international and commercial lawyer.

Mr. Robinson is active in numerous international organizations, and currently serves as President and Chairman of the Michigan Chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce, the country's largest.  He is past Chairman of the Corporate Counsel Forum of the International Bar Association, and an emeritus member of the Association of General Counsel.  

Mr. Robinson has published two books, An American in Leningrad, about his experiences on the law faculty there, and Evil Star, a spy thriller.  He speaks internationally on corporate governance, international business transactions and the problems of the US automotive industry.  He is a frequent contributor to Forbes and other business publications and appears regularly on national TV and radio.
