Project Salute is in chilly Orlando. The cold certainly isn’t what the six students here this week expected when they signed up to spend their spring break here, but it is still warmer than Detroit. For many, this is their second stop on the Project SALUTE tour.

Six questions for Tony Karman
Tony Karman is a 3L from Grosse Ile, Michigan. Before UDM School of Law, he attended the
University of Michigan, graduating with a degree in Sports Management.
ON THE ROAD: WHY VETERANS LAW AND THE MOBILE LAW OFFICE?
Tony Karman: My father and grandfather are both veterans and have instilled in me a sense of duty to give back to those who have valiantly served our country. I wanted to get a national perspective on a plethora of issues in this field and have actual on-the-job training.
ON THE ROAD: DID YOU PICK ORLANDO, OR DID THEY PICK YOU? ANY PERSONAL CONNECTION TO THE AREA?
Tony Karman: I chose Orlando for a warm spring break destination and to see how my experiences in Florida would differ from those I had in Texas.
ON THE ROAD: WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO MEETING YOUR FIRST VETERAN?
Tony Karman: I was nervous at first, but was soon put at ease when I realized that he genuinely appreciated what we were doing with Project SALUTE and was very cooperative and forthcoming.
ON THE ROAD: HAVE YOU SERVED IN THE MILITARY, OR EVER THOUGHT ABOUT SERVING? HAS THIS EXPERIENCE CHANGED YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE MILITARY?
Tony Karman: I have not personally. It has changed it greatly! It has given me a newfound respect, appreciation, and empathy for those who served to preserve the freedoms that many of us so often take for granted.
ON THE ROAD: WHAT WOULD YOU TELL A BROTHER/SISTER WHO WAS CONSIDERING ENLISTING?
Tony Karman: To not expect to be quite the same person upon your return as you were when you left.
ON THE ROAD: ORLANDO AND WALT DISNEY WORLD ARE LOCATED IN ORANGE COUNTY. THE MAILING ADDRESS FOR DISNEY WORLD IS LAKE BUENA VISTA. BUT THE PRINCIPLE GOVERNING JURISDICTION IS WHAT?
Tony Karman: Ummm....California because Disney is incorporated there?
Nope, Disney is incorporated in Delaware.
